Domaine la Gravette Merlot Wine France
100% merlot, on the nose, intense aromas of wild berries, blackcurrants and vanilla, the palate is aromatic, elegant, balanced and with nice tannins. The persistent finish rounds off the wine perfectly. In 1978, Jean-Pierre and Josiane Orosquette decided to settle in the south of France, with a view to producing quality wines and so Chateau La Gravette was born. At that time, the Languedoc was still known as "the wine barn of France." Many wines were of poor quality because high production was the priority rather than quality. However, Jean-Pierre and Josiane, both from families of winemakers were convinced that quality ultimately in this area would be more important than quantity. They invested in the vineyards with a focus on agriculture raisonnee and produced less, but better wines. Today they are seem as one of the leading winemakers in the region for honest, quality priced wines.
