Atama is known for being a bold, "crowd-pleaser" style of wine. It leans into the classic characteristics of Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon from the Central Valley.
Aromas: Dominant scents of blackcurrant (cassis), dark chocolate, and subtle hints of tobacco or oak.
Taste: A full-bodied palate featuring ripe plum and black cherry. You’ll often notice a touch of vanilla or "cigar box" spice if it has had oak contact.
Structure: It generally has firm but approachable tannins and a moderate acidity, making it relatively smooth for a younger wine.
To get the most out of Atama, consider the following:
Temperature: Serve slightly cool, around 16–18°C. If the room is warm, a 15-minute "chill" in the fridge can help focus the fruit flavors.
Food Pairings: * Meats: Grilled lamb chops, beef burgers, or a classic steak.
Cheese: Aged cheddar, Gouda, or Manchego.
Vegetarian: Portobello mushroom steaks or hearty lentil stews.
