Domaines des Galloires Leon Jean Nature Brut is a beautifully crisp, sparkling Chenin Blanc that brings the elegant effervescence of the Loire Valley straight to your glass. With its lively bubbles, energetic acidity, and completely pure fruit character, this zero-dosage style sparkling wine is an absolute joy to drink. It serves as a sophisticated alternative to Champagne, a guaranteed crowd-pleaser for any special occasion, and the ultimate refreshing weekend treat.

Tasting Notes & Food Pairings

The Profile:  An aromatic nose of crisp green apples, white blossoms, and a subtle hint of fresh brioche opens up to a lively, bone-dry palate featuring zesty citrus and mineral clarity, all leading to a beautifully clean, persistent finish.

Classic Pairings: Pairs beautifully with fresh pan-seared scallops, a premium seafood platter, or soft, creamy cheeses like young goat's cheese and classic Brie.

Irish Favourite Pairings:  A magnificent companion for a comforting home-cooked chicken and mushroom vol-au-vent or a traditional fish pie, where the wine's vibrant effervescence cuts cleanly through the rich, creamy sauces. It is also an absolute dream alongside a Friday night takeaway chipper order of fresh battered fish and chips—the high natural acidity and sharp bubbles slice right through the heavy, savory fats of the batter, acting as a natural palate cleanser that balances the salt and oil perfectly.

How the wine is made

This sparkling wine is crafted from 100% Chenin Blanc grapes grown on the expressive, mineral-rich soils of the Loire Valley. Following a meticulous hand-harvesting process to select only the finest fruit, the wine undergoes secondary fermentation in the bottle according to the traditional method (méthode traditionnelle). Kept as a "Nature" or zero-dosage style, absolutely no extra sugar is added before final corking, allowing the pure, crisp varietal characteristics and natural acidity of the grape to shine completely unadulterated.

Why we love this producer:

Domaine des Galloires represents the very best of family-run, independent French winemaking, where an enduring passion for the land is passed down through generations. Rather than chasing mass-market commercial profiles, this estate focuses heavily on a low-intervention philosophy to produce honest, transparent expressions of their terroir. We love their ability to craft world-class sparkling wines that capture a perfect balance of ancestral pride and contemporary purity.

Sustainability & Farming Practices

Vineyard Practices: The estate is managed with a deep respect for the local ecosystem, utilizing natural, low-intervention vineyard practices, hand-harvesting techniques, and native cover crops to support soil health and foster biodiversity.  Healthier soils naturally yield more vibrant, terroir-driven fruit while protecting the local environment for future generations, ensuring the true, crisp identity of the Loire Valley is preserved in every bubble.
