This certified organic Grillo from Sicily is fresh, vibrant and full of character. Bright aromas of pink grapefruit, passion fruit and Mediterranean herbs lead to a crisp, refreshing palate with a clean, elegant finish. A versatile white with plenty of freshness, it's an excellent alternative to Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc.

Tasting Notes & Food Pairings

The Profile:

A bright straw yellow with shimmering greenish glints, opening with inviting aromas of pink grapefruit, passion fruit, fresh basil, and white peach. The palate is dry, crisp, and wonderfully harmonious, balancing ripe tropical fruit flavours with a savoury, mineral-driven acidity and a clean, long-lasting finish.

Classic Pairings:

Pan-seared sea bass with herbs, grilled calamari, lemon chicken, or a fresh Caprese salad with buffalo mozzarella.

Irish Favourite Pairings:

  • Traditional Irish Chipper Fish & Chips: The wine's vibrant, citrusy acidity cuts right through the rich, oily batter and crispy chips, lifting the delicate white cod while refreshing the palate between bites.
  • Creamy Seafood Chowder with Wheaten Bread: The bright mineral core and zesty citrus slice straight through the heavy cream base, lightening the dish while enhancing the sweet notes of fresh mussels, prawns, and smoked fish.

How the wine is made

Crafted by the Ardagna family in the gently rolling hills of Salemi in western Sicily, where clay-loam soils and cool coastal breezes preserve bright natural acidity. The organically grown Grillo grapes are selectively hand-harvested at peak ripeness to protect their delicate aromatic compounds. Following a gentle soft pressing, fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks, where the wine rests on its fine lees with periodic stirring (*bâtonnage*) to develop a rounded, velvety mouthfeel before bottling

Why we love this producer

Deeply rooted in the countryside of Salemi, Musìta is a family-owned estate where five generations of the Ardagna family have cultivated the land for over 120 years. The estate's passion lies in showcasing Sicily's native grape varieties while honouring the Moorish and Mediterranean heritage of the region. We love Musìta for their commitment to bottling authentic Sicilian soul—blending historic viticulture with modern organic farming to produce wines of exceptional quality, character, and accessible charm.

Sustainability & Farming Practices

Vineyard Practices: Farmed without the use of synthetic chemical pesticides, weedkillers, or artificial fertilizers to nurture natural soil health and foster rich biodiversity in the Sicilian countryside.
