Made from organically grown Zibibbo (Muscat of Alexandria) grapes, this Sicilian white is beautifully aromatic while remaining refreshingly dry. Delicate notes of orange blossom and jasmine are complemented by ripe white peach and a hint of citrus, leading to a crisp, mineral finish. Distinctive and full of character, it's an excellent choice for those looking to explore something different from Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio.
Tasting Notes & Food Pairings
The Profile:
An intense straw-yellow hue in the glass, unleashing an irresistible perfume of white flowers, orange blossom, and juicy yellow peach. The palate is dry, lively, and enveloping, balancing tropical stone fruit flavors with a soft, persistent, and clean mineral finish.
Classic Pairings:
Pan-seared sea bass, fragrant Thai green curry, Sicilian seafood couscous, or fresh goat's cheese crostini.
Irish Favourite Pairings:
How the wine is made
Crafted by the Ardagna family in the rolling hills of Salemi in western Sicily, where clay-loam soils and cool coastal breezes create ideal conditions for aromatic varieties. Hand-harvested in mid-September, the organically grown Zibibbo grapes undergo a gentle pressing before controlled-temperature fermentation in stainless steel to preserve their vibrant natural aromatics. The wine is aged on fine lees in stainless steel tanks for five months with periodic *bâtonnage* (lees stirring), imparting a velvety, enfolding texture while maintaining pristine fruit purity.
Why we love this producer
Deeply rooted in the countryside of Salemi, Musìta is a family-owned estate where five generations of the Ardagna family have cultivated the land for over 120 years. The estate's passion lies in showcasing Sicily's native grape varieties while honouring the Moorish and Mediterranean heritage of the region. We love Musìta for their commitment to bottling authentic Sicilian soul—blending historic viticulture with modern organic farming to produce wines of exceptional quality, character, and accessible charm.
